If by 'upgrade' you mean SW/HW that allows operation of Logic Analyzer and/or Waveform Generator, then no, you don't have to pay extra for upgrades. The MSO1104Z-S KIT comes with everything as advertised.

Q: Is software to remote view on PC included?

No. At least not innthe one I got. But very easy to use pyvisa (python) to control, capture measurement, data, or screenshot via USB or Ethernet.

Yes a function generator is included on the scope, however, it may be less flexible than a dedicated fully programmable arbitrary function generator. I suggest you peruse Rigol's site which has an online version of the manual and see if it meets your needs!

Yes, SW features are 'unlocked'. The logic analyzer functions work as advertised with the MSO1104Z-S KIT.
