I've needed this for a long time
I have always been concerned about surge protection for my electronics when traveling. Sometimes I take corded surge protectors with me, but they are bulky and heavy. So, I recently started looking for an alternative and found several on Amazon.I preferred a known brand, protection of 800 Joules or greater, and, ideally, an Underwriter’s Laboratory (UL) seal. I found two Belkin devices that fit my needs, this Belkin protector (with 3 AC and 2 USB ports) and the smaller Belkin 1-outlet SurgeCube (not sure if the SurgeCube is UL listed). When traveling, my charging needs are: laptop (AC), camera battery charger (AC), Kindle (AC or USB), and cell phone (AC or USB). I decided this Belkin Surge Protector (with 3 AC and 2 USB) was the best fit for my needs. But I was uncertain about the size after reading conflicting information. I decided to order it and see for myself.Dimensions. The product dimensions listed on Amazon are: 2.2 x 5.16 x 7.2 inches. These dimensions seem to be for the box the product comes in, which I measured as 1.9 x 4.4 x 7.9 inches. The dimensions of the product itself are: 1.5 x 2 (3.25 counting the plug) x 4.0 inches. It is basically the size of my eyeglasses case. The weight is comparable to my morning coffee mug. So compact, but not tiny. Certainly more travel-friendly than my corded surge protecting power strips. See my photos. What I like. Rotating plug should allow flexibility in using outlets. Indicator light shows the unit is functioning. Ample plug-ins, both AC and USB, to accommodate my needs. UL listed seal. Manufacturer states 918 Joule rating. What I don't like: It would be nice if the plug prongs folded down, out of the way. Rotating the plug is a bit harder than I expected (you do have to depress a button under the plug while rotating), hoping it might get easier with practice.I tried it at home and it seems to work well, will add it to my kit for my next trip.

Great adapter for the outlet in the strange place, where some items on't fit.
Purchased this surge protector yesterday, after seeing it in a video review for the Echo Flex on YouTube. Here is my back story: I live in a one bedroom apartment, and these apartments are old, were built in the 60's. Anyway, the Bathroom GFC plus is in a strange place, it's between the toilet and the sink on the wall. Because the sink is a cabinet sink, Echo Flex will not go directly into the outlet because of space. The Flex is a little too wide for the space.I had tried the three sided Wall taps that turn the front outlet horizontal instead of vertical, and while this worked. I wasn't satisfied fully because the Flex is supposed to be vertical, even though Amazon doesn't demand this, I wanted to try to get it vertical in my spot. The Belkin surge protector is a perfect solution, and while for me, I don't need the USB ports, the Flex has one, if I do. The main purpose was to have a flexible outlet to give the Flex more room to plug in vertically. The added bonus here , at least for me is, the outlet is GFC and the Belkin is a surge protector, so not a high possibility, the extra protection is there. The Belkin has a little button you hold down on the back to rotate the plug, and it seems like it can rotate in a full 360 degrees, at least half a circle, if not full.I usually wait some time to write reviews, to give time to pass, however I feel like in this case It was for a specific purpose, and it worked out of the box perfectly, So I posted this review. One tip I would give Amazon, if they read these reviews, maybe provide an adapter with the Echo Flex for these types of situations. Not everyone is going to take the time to problem solve and just give the product a bad rating, even if there is a simple fix like this. It's just a thought to help prevent bad reviews that could stop the sale of products over an issue a particular person wasn't willing to take the time to solve.Bottom Line, I love the echo Flex, and this adjustable surge protector has made it much easier to use in my desired location.

Worked perfectly with several USB items, convenient features
I ordered this Belkin surge protector for a vacation in Italy. I had also ordered an Italian adapter plug - the Orei Grounded Universal 2 in 1 plug. I was concerned that the hotels would not have enough plugs, and that they might have surges. And I was carrying three cameras that recharged with USB plugs and two iPhones. I got the 10 watt Belkin, NOT the 5 watt, as I had read reviews saying the 5 watt had too much power drop off with more than one item. Also, I liked that this Belkin could swivel into many positions, which I knew would be useful on weirdly located hotel plugs. The combination worked perfectly, with even with several items attached. At each hotel I plugged the Orei Grounded Universal plug into an Italian outlet, plugged the Belkin into the Orei, and had five ports available off one wall plug. (Of course, on US hotels there is not need for a universal plug.) A standard extension cord surge protector would work as well as the Belkin for standard plugs, but the added convenience of the two dedicated USB ports was a major convenience, allowing me to charge up to five USB items at once (three was the most I ever needed)- with no noticeable loss of power - using a combination of direct USB plugs and the standard USB adapters that come with some USB products, such as iPhone. I didn't do any scientific tests on power loss using more than one USB plug at a time, but I got all the phones and cameras recharged in normal time each night. I plan to carry this Belkin with my on all my trips, in my laptop bag. It's relatively small and not having another cord is great.

Too wide for a combo outlet with power and Ethernet
I originally bought this to get rid of a wall mounted extension cord behind my wall mounted TV. I had to use it elsewhere, because it turns out that it was too wide to allow me to plug in an Ethernet cable to the port adjacent to the power outlet, and it wouldn't have fit at all if there was a cable port that juts out of the wall. I ended up buying a different one with 6 outlets that fit without a problem, so while this works well and has the USB outlets as a bonus, it's not suitable for outlets that have cable or Ethernet ports on the same wall plate.
