This is a perfectly nice pure cotton burping/swaddling cloth, and it's nice that it's organic cotton, but as other reviewers have noted once you're in the hectic, sleepless cycle of looking after a newborn the last thing you want to worry about is that this should be machine washed on cold, or hand washed. Nope, not gonna happen; and in any event, unless you use a fabric steriliser those temperatures aren't going to kill the bugs feeding on all that baby puke and poop. I'm going to stick my neck out here and say I doubt it will be harmed by a good old normal machine wash, but I don't think that's something a new parent should really have to worry about.This will doubtless end up being used for everthing from breastfeeding privacy screen (NB I'm not saying you have to hide away!) to burping baby to wiping up whatever he or she has deposited on face, tummy or floor. As such it's useful to note that it's very absorbent, but also very thin (naturally); if used as a burping cloth make sure you've at least double folded it (I'd go at least three) otherwise whatever comes out of baby will be on your Dior top before you can say "yuk!"Anyway, one star off for adding yet more pressure on new parents with unrealistic washing requirements and the uncertainty of what a hot wash would do to this; otherwise, fine.

Well made as expected of the Mori brand. Nice large square muslin blanket, great for swaddling and then you can use as a burp cloth (absorbs spit up well) and modesty drape cover while breatfeeding. Could also be used as a lightweight blanket too. Comes in a plastic bag but well presented enough to go in a baby shower gift. Nice muted colour.

I have normal colour vision. I've looked at it under multiple different lights including natural light. This is a grey cloth and not a blue one. It's also the same grey that was recently popular for home decoration so already looks a bit passé.* The design is odd. There are clouds, stars, crescent moons, and... a fruit with eyes? A man with just a face and tiny legs? A space hopper?* It's not very soft (and unlikely to improve after washing as it comes pre-washed) and the printed design elements are quite hard and rough. Not very nice for a baby's skin.* The edges aren't very well stitched - it's quite uneven and feels rushed.* The design is only printed on one side. The other side just looks odd.I don't recommend this item.

I have always really liked the Mori brand and this muslin swaddle cloth is just like other items from this brand.It is made from 100% cotton and is finished in a nice light grey. It is a good size at 75cm squared, and is very absorbent making it ideal for draping over the shoulder to use for burping baby.Washing instructions state to machine wash in cold water or hand wash. Realistically, it will end up being machine washed with all the other baby items. So I can't comment on how durable it will be.

really nice size blanket for babies , very cosy , nice pattern on it too , however this will be going into my beardies tank as a cosy bed for her ! but a good gift as well for newborns as well !

Really not happy this is for a new born baby and it was delivered with what looks like a blood stain on it!

It is a good size at 75cm squared, and is very absorbent making it ideal for draping over the shoulder to use for burping baby. While it is quite soft to the touch, I would prefer a softer material for wiping dab/wipe baby's face.Washing instructions state to machine wash in cold water or hand wash at 30 degC. Realistically, it will end up being machine washed at 30degC with all the other baby items.
